Ryan, Tennis Manager and Head Coach at the RGC, is a highly qualified professional with extensive experience in coaching and player development. He has over 18 years of tennis experience.

His accolades include being a Tennis Canada Coach 3 Certified professional and receiving the Tennis Canada/TPA Club Professional Excellence Award. Ryan's passion for tennis and commitment to advancing the sport is evident through his work as a Course Facilitator for Tennis Canada and his involvement in various coaching and advisory roles.

Val Loker, badminton coach on the RGC private badminton courts.

Get to know our Head Badminton Pro, Val Loker.

Val is a highly accomplished badminton coach with an impressive track record in both coaching and competitive play, with over 20 years experience coaching. As the head coach for Team Alberta at the Canada Winter Games, Val led the team to a silver medal in the team event and secured two bronze medals in men's and ladies' singles. With a world ranking of 21 during their international circuit days and three national titles between 2006-2008, Val's expertise and success in the sport are undeniable.

Val's coaching prowess extends beyond national competitions, having been selected to coach the Junior National Team at prestigious championships such as the Jr. Pan Am Championships in Santo Domingo, the Jr. World Championships in Santander, and the Jr. Pan Am Championships in Lima. Furthermore, Val has taken on the role of learning facilitator with Badminton Alberta, imparting their knowledge and training aspiring badminton coaches in the province.

Val has the experience to help coach any level of player, whether you’re just beginning or a seasoned player, she’s here to elevate you to the next level!

Get to know our Head Squash Pro, Pete Goodings.

Pete, a former Home International Squash player and experienced coach, joined the RGC in 2014. With his leadership, the Junior Squash program flourished, and he achieved personal success as the Canadian National 50+ Champion. With over 30 years as a professional Squash player, he's here to instruct you in the fundamentals, enhance your abilities, or elevate your performance to a championship level!

Growing up in Northampton England, he completed his England Squash Level 3 Professional Coach, Royal Air Force (RAF) Staff Physical Training Instructor (1989-2004), DIP PT, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)  Practitioner & Motivational Interviewing Technique (MI) specialist. He is also sponsored by Unsquashable!

When Pete is not on court, he can often be found spending time with his family, as well as engaging in his passion for house renovation, cars, music & cinema.

Get to know our Pickleball Coordinator, Lane Richard.

With an enduring presence of more than 15 years in the tennis domain, Lane remains a cornerstone of our tennis department. He is a Tennis Canada NCCP Coach 3. He remains pivotal in shaping our tennis programs and exhibits the adeptness to collaborate with players of diverse ages and skill levels. In an expanded role, Lane will now be dedicating a portion of each week to oversee Pickleball programming at the club. His local competitive experience adds to his enthusiasm for joining the Pickleball phenomenon.

Get to know our Skating Director, Katherine Co-Grant.

Katherine, our Skating Director for 6 years, has transformed skaters at the Royal Glenora Club, guiding them from Learn to skate programs to provincial and national champions. Her coaching has produced 30 Provincial medalists and 3 National Medalists. With a background as a former National competitor and extensive clinical research experience, Katherine's expertise and dedication are unmatched in shaping the success of our skaters. She also was selected by Skate Canada for the 2022-2024 International Coaching Apprenticeship Program, because of her athlete's national results.

Kristen is a dedicated and experienced individual in the field of aquatics. With a diverse range of certifications and training, including National Lifeguard Instructor, Swim Instructor and Trainer, Lifesaving Instructor and Trainer, Lifesaving First Aid Instructor and Trainer, Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and Trainer, Standard First Aid and Aquatic Emergency Care, and membership in Junior and Senior Lifeguard Clubs, Kristen possesses the necessary skills and expertise to excel in her role.

With 15 years of industry experience and a background in competitive swimming spanning 5 years, Kristen is committed to ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all individuals in aquatic settings.
