RGC Junior Squash Silver Event

  • Last Sunday saw a return to Junior Squash competition and the action was excellent. We had 22 players join the event from across Edmonton and this was a great opportunity for these Junior athletes to get back to what they love doing.

  • Most players got 5-6 matches in from 9am-4pm and to say the excitement level was high is an understatement. The parents also got to see their Junior athletes push themselves mentally and physically throughout the day.

  • The Silver level events are aimed at players who are looking to push on in their competitive play, and take that next step to taking the sport a little more seriously - but this did not mean that fun was not high on the agenda. There were some tears and some laughter too, proving that the balance of fun and competition was just about right.

  • Event Highlights:

    • Winner - Taylor Garth

    • Runner-Up - Bito Kondrak

    • 3rd Place - Mousa Weis

    • Consolation Winner - Alp Zahedzadeh

    • Consolation Runner-Up - Sky Bradley-Taubner

    • Sportspersonship Award - Eden-Bradley-Taubner

    • Refereeing Award - Eva Douglas
