Fitness Programming

We offer the following programs through the RGC Fitness Centre:

  • Pre-registered and registered fitness programs
  • Free drop-in fitness classes
  • Fitness programs in strength, cardio, and a mixture of the two
  • Speciality fitness programs, such as yoga, barre, dance instruction, and more
  • Personal training, goal setting, and fitness tracking
  • Group personal training
  • Speciality group and personal training
If you're new to a fitness routine or want to get more from your workout, we have numerous Certified Personal Trainers on-site for you to turn to for advice and coaching. We also offer our 10 class and 20 classFit Cards to use to get into drop-in sessions in addition to offering a number of free classes for all Members to attend.

Now Offering Taekwondo!

Taekwondo has no age limits and is a fantastic sport for kids. Participants will learn to react quickly through games, will learn to respect others, and will learn to become aware of their strengths and weaknesses. This class emphasizes the Taekwondo philosophy of spirit, history, breathing techniques, focus, stretching and heavy plyometric training. this involves a mix of basic and intermediate blocking, kicking, punching, one step sparring (left and right side), and fighting techniques. Basic self defense throws and joint-lock techniques are introduced. Uniforms as well as optional equipment are available to purchase through the instructors. Testing fees of $60.00 will apply as students transition through their level towards achieving their Black Belt. No drop-ins are allowed for this program as skill progression is required.

Instructors are Certified by the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) as well as Taekwondo Canada's Assistant Instructor (A-I) and/or Dojang Coach (DC) contexts. First Aid, CPR & AED training, and/or baby-sitting certifications are also a mandatory requirement each year to ensure student safety at PMAA.
