General Maintenance Worker

Summary:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for the maintenance of the building and grounds in order to ensure that they are maintained in a safe and healthy manner.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Working condition delivers outstanding service to members at all times; addressing member concerns immediately; seeking input on an ongoing basis, taking appropriate action on all suggestions and concerns
  • Follows proper work procedures, performs duties in a safe manner and observes all rules and regulations and cooperates in creating a safe and secure, healthy and productive work environment
  • Ensures that the building and grounds are maintained
  • Troubleshoots and performs minor repairs on heating, cooling and ventilation systems; on plumbing systems;  on electrical systems; and on appliances
  • Paints
  • Repairs drywall
  • Performs routine maintenance jobs and repairs
  • General administration, proper inventory recording, accurate paperwork
  • Perform other related duties as required.
 
Qualifications:
  • Previous building maintenance experience required
  • Trade certificate preferred
  • WHMIS, First Aid and CPR Certification an asset
  • Ability to work under little supervision
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
  • Standard First Aid/CPR C/AED is required;
  • Exceptional customer service focus;
  • Independent decision-making, problem solving and analytical skills;
  • A well-developed understanding of artificial ice preparation and maintenance;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety; and
  • Teamwork and cooperation.
