Skating Programming

Pre-CanSkate


This is an introductory program for skaters aged 2.5-5, which is taught in a fun and structured group environment. Skaters will learn educational concepts while learning the very basics of skating at the same time


CanSkate


This learn-to-skate program teaches skaters the fundamentals of skating in a progressive and sequential manner. The focus is on fun, participation, and basic skill development. Skaters are taught by Skate Canada professional coaches and supported by trained program assistants in a group lesson format. This program is for all CanSkate stages 1 through 6. In stages 1 through 5, a CSA approved helmet is mandatory for all skaters.
 

Junior STARSkate


Learn the fundamentals of figure skating with a 30-minute off-ice stretch/jump class followed by a 10-minute on-ice stroking class, 30-minute small group lesson and then 5 minutes of flex time. Skaters will learn skills in a progressive and sequential manner with the opportunity to take Skate Canada tests through a nationally standardized testing system. This program is for Star Levels 1-3 and skaters at this level are encouraged to register for two sessions per week. Junior Competitive


This program is for skaters who are looking to begin private lessons with coaches and who are preparing for skating competitions. Skaters in this program have the opportunity to take Skate Canada tests and will be able to compete in Club Competitions, STARskate Interclub Competitions, and Invitational Competitions. This program is for STAR Levels 3-5 and can be supplemented with our Jr. STARskate program. Intermediate Competitive


This program is for Pre-Juvenile, Juvenile, STAR 4 and STAR 5 competitive skaters. This program is for skaters wishing to take Skate Canada tests and to compete in qualifying events within Skate Canada. Senior Competitive


This program is for skaters in Pre-Novice, Novice, Junior and Senior competitive and STAR 6+ skaters. This program is for skaters wishing to take Skate Canada tests and to compete in qualifying events within Skate Canada. Adult Skate


We offer individualized lessons for adults wanting to learn how to skate or improve on the skills they already know. No prerequisites are required to register for adult skate!
