Valerie Loker | Badminton Head Coach/Manager |

Valerie Loker is a former Canadian National Team member and represented her country at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in mixed doubles on the Canadian Olympic Team. She was a silver medalist in mixed doubles at the 2007 Pan Am Games. Valerie has her NCCP Provincial Coach Certification and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University.

Sam Kim | Badminton Professional |

Sam Kim is a former Korean National Team member and was in the top three at the World Junior Championships in men's doubles in 2008. Sam has his NCCP Regional Coach Certification and his Bachelor of Physical Education from Wonkwang University in the Iksan Republic of Korea.

Francis Kiew | Badminton Professional |

Francis Kiew has been with the Royal Glenora Club since 2007 and served as interim Badminton Head until the hiring of our current Badminton Professional, Valerie Loker. A favourite by many RGC Members, Francis excels at teaching young, first-time badminton players the basics of the game. Francis boasts over 16 years of badminton coaching experience and has his NCCP Regional Coaching Certification. Francis also runs recreational pickleball two times per week.


Nathan Osborne | Assistant Badminton Coach

Even though he's young, Nathan boasts an impressive background in badminton. Nathan was a finalist in the 2015 Canada Winter Games in men's doubles and the team event. Moreover, Nathan was the mixed doubles champion in 2014 for the Canadian National University/College Championships. In addition to this, in 2011, Nathan was the Junior Pan American Champion in U17 mixed doubles and boy's doubles, he was a finalist in boy's singles. Nathan is currently an NCCP Regional Coach in training.
