Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, service oriented and reliable person to join the maintenance team at the Royal Glenora Club on a full-time basis. Under the supervision of the Director of Facility Operations, Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisors, the Zamboni Driver performs ice resurfacing operation. 
 
Hours of Work:
Full-Time or Part-Time Evenings. To be considered for this position you must be able to work a rotating schedule, any 5 days of the week including evenings.
 
Job Duties (include but are not limited to):

  • Performs ice resurfacing operation; operates Zamboni and ice edger; records ice measurements; flooding, patching, building and repairing ice as required.
  • Provides quality customer service.
  • Prepares skating surfaces for each scheduled event, i.e. scoreboards, nets; adjust lighting and music, bumpers, etc.
  • Checks zamboni’s fluid levels, tires, battery, and changes blades as required.
  • Performs ice making, ice painting, ice removal duties, facility painting, dasher board glass installation and operation of the bobcat.
  • Participates in keeping all areas of the facility neat and tidy during operations.
  • Monitors all factors regarding safety and the security in the Ice Arena Facility.
  • Maintains all adjacent areas to the arena exterior including entranceways.
  • Assists with the setup and tear down of special events.
  • Assists with snow removal when required.
  • Conducts routine and assigned maintenance repairs throughout the facilities.
 
Working Conditions:
  • Standing, moving, bending.
  • Evening, weekends and holiday hours as required.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling.
  • Standing, sitting or walking for an extended period of time.
 
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in an ice arena, including the installation and maintenance of arena ice, building and equipment maintenance, and custodial work.
  • Candidates possessing Zamboni experience and who hold an Arena Operator Level 1 certificate will be given preference.
  • Able to work a variety of shifts (i.e. nights, weekends, and in emergency situations).
  • A security clearance is a requirement for all positions within Royal Glenora Club.
