In 1961, three clubs—the Glenora Skating and Tennis Club, the Braemar Badminton Club, and the Royal Curling Club—joined together to become the Royal Glenora Club (RGC). Since then, we have been dedicated to enriching our Members' lives. RGC is situated in the North Saskatchewan River valley, easily accessible from anywhere in Edmonton. Inside you will find a safe family environment, a welcoming community atmosphere, and a level of personalized service that can only be found in a private club. We offer a wide range of programs and activities. Our thriving recreational and competitive athletics include fitness, skating, racquet sports, aquatics, and gymnastics for Members of all ages. A number of our Members have even gone on to compete in World Championships and the Olympics. After a workout, Members can relax in the whirlpool or hot tubs, or book an appointment with our massage specialists for a deeper level of relaxation. Other Member services include locker registration, laundry service, child care, and access to any of our affiliate clubs while travelling in North America or overseas. Family brunch, business lunches, dinner with friends, or after-work drinks can be enjoyed in one of our dining rooms, on our indoor atrium pool patio, or on our front terrace overlooking the river during the warmer months. Members and members of the public can also host weddings and events in one of our many banquet rooms, with catering provided in-house. Our full social calendar helps Members to form relationships and build a sense of belonging through athletic tournaments, social events, and Clubs within the Club. Position Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this position consists of outside sales, gathering leads, enrolling new members and generating new event business.  This position is responsible for creating, managing and fostering relationships with potential new club members, local and national corporations and professional associations.
 
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develop strategic plans to increase total membership sales and revenue
  • Actively seek out new business prospects
  • Organize and attend weekly sales calls for lead and sales generation
  • Follow-up with current members for referral business
  • Creates business-to-business relationships to drive membership sales
  • Responsible for marketing of Member events and initiatives
  • Create new business through New Member Networking Events
  • Attend key events in/out of Club
  • Continually foster new/current city and community relationships
  • Help create and manage new sales material
  • Work in conjunction with the PR/Marketing team
  • Create a strong branding presence with the Membership through social media, internal marketing, and external marketing.
  • Liaise with all Media Outlets for any opportunities on property or off
 
Requirements:
Education and experience
  • Must have a minimum of three years Membership Sales preferably in an upscale country club setting
  • Must have outside sales experience
  • Must be willing to sell business-to-business
  • You will have excellent interpersonal, organizational skills including being very detailed and being a team player
  • You must be proficient in large group presentations
  • This position will require you to travel within the City of Edmonton and surrounding areas
